15 Roma and Egyptian high school students on the occasion of 16 days of women’s activism from 25/11 to 10/12/2017 performed six actions in Nikšić and Podgorica on the theme of child arranged marriages. The actions were carried out in the squares of the mentioned cities, in secondary schools and faculties and were followed by about 600 people. On this occasion information leaflets were also distributed.
The actions were performed in the form of Forum Theatre and presented a true story about entering into a child-contracted marriage, with the goal of introducing the general public to the problems that Roma and Egyptian girls are facing.
The above mentioned activity was realized within the project “Education without Violence”, which is implemented within the regional project “For Active Inclusion and Rights of Roma Women in the Western Balkans II”, which is implemented in partnership with CARE International and financially supported by the Austrian Development Cooperation.
