In the period from 18th to 19th November in Podgorica, the Center for Roma Initiatives organized accredited training: “Basic training program for professional workers, professional associates and members of multidisciplinary teams for the prevention and suppression of child arranged marriages” for 20 professional workers (16f, 4m).
Through theoretical and practical work with the training leaders, the participants had the opportunity to become familiar with the concept and characteristics of child arranged marriage, the national legislative framework for combating this phenomenon as well as with the procedures of competent institutions. Based on the exit test, all participants met the requirements for obtaining a certificate issued by the Institute for Social and Child Protection of Montenegro.
The activity was implemented through the project “Adequate reintegration for victims of child illegal marriages within the Roma and Egyptian community in Montenegro” which is supported by the UN Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery (UNVFCFS).
