Marking the World Roma Day, 8th April 2022

The Center for Roma Initiatives congratulates all members of the Roma community on World Roma Day with the messages we send to the general public: “Break the chain of prejudices against Roma”; “Meet me and tell me who I am”; “Who are we to stick labels”; “You have no right to discrimination”, which are part of the street initiative that we are implementing today on 8^th April 2022 in Podgorica (Republic Square). About 400 members of the general public were encouraged to pay special attention to improving the position of Roma, pointing out the prejudices they face in order to reduce gender-based violence and all forms of discrimination.

The activity was implemented within the project “Reducing the discrimination against the Roma and Egyptian community”, which is financially supported by the US Embassy in Podgorica.
