Training on child marriage for Roma and Egyptian activists in Podgorica
Beginning February 21 2019, the Center for Roma Initiatives organized four-day training in two modules for fourteen Roma and Egyptian activists from four Montenegrin cities (Nikšić, Podgorica, Bijelo Polje and Herceg Novi).
Participants have enhanced their knowledge of the causes and consequences of forced child marriage as well as about the actions of the relevant institutions in accordance with the accredited training “Basic training of professional workers, expert associates and members of multidisciplinary teams for prevention and suppression of forced child marriage”.
At the same time, they have acquired the skills to identify, report, monitor and report cases of domestic violence and forced child marriage, and are familiar with the role of mediators in local communities through theoretical and practical work.
The activity was realized within the project “Active action against domestic violence and child marriage in the Roma and Egyptian community” financially supported by the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
