In December 2019 and January 2020, the Center for Roma Initiatives implemented two workshop modules for children aged 9 to 18 in Niksic, Podgorica and Berane.
Through both modules, which included 30 workshops, a total of 230 children, through theoretical and practical work, were introduced to human rights and children’s rights, discrimination, stereotypes and prejudices, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as violations of rights through phenomena such as violence, abuse and negligence and child marriage as well as ways of reporting violations of their rights.
Working with children within the mentioned topics will contribute to their better expression of rights through painting works and plays in the coming period.
The workshops were conducted within the project “From Knowledge to Children’s Rights”, implemented within the regional initiative “Equitable Access to Justice for Children in the Western Balkans”, implemented in Montenegro and Albania, with UNICEF technical support and financial assistance from the Government of the Kingdom Norway.
