She graduated from Mileva Lajović Lalatović Primary School. She was a successful student despite all the problems she encountered as a person from a minority population. She always wanted to fight for herself and gain the conditions for a normal life in her city. That is why she attended classes regularly and aimed to enroll in high school after primary school.
The story of Alice Spatolaj: “I have often attended workshops organized by the Center for Roma Initiatives, which aimed at guiding children and emphasizing to them the importance of education and the harmful effects of early marriages. I loved going to elementary school and tended to enroll in high school. As a girl I used to play hairdressers with my friends, I liked to make my friends hairstyles. When I graduated from elementary school, I was scared of enrolling in high school, but when I was admitted to high school hairdressing, I was quite pleased. Now I have the opportunity to learn the craft, to become a hairstylist. I am already skillfully making various hairstyles, and my wish is to open my own hair salon and hire my friends and sisters one day ”.
“With this story from my experience, I want to encourage other children, especially girls, to persist in their education, to enroll in high school after primary school. It is very important that as many Roma and Egyptian girls as possible be educated in order that they can be independent tomorrow an not to get married early”[:]
