„Children are children“ Campaign

The team of the Center for Roma Initiatives in cooperation with Roma and Egyptian activists have been continued the campaign “Children are children”  in the period from 07.08. to 15.08.2020. in Podgorica and Berane. On a door-to-door basis, they visited more than 150 families in seven Roma and Egyptian settlements, where promotional material (notebooks, T-shirts, mugs and pendants) was distributed, and on that occasion they talked to over 400 members of the Roma and Egyptian communities about harmful consequences of a child’s contracted marriage.

The campaign under the slogan “Children are children” was launched by the Government of Montenegro, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the Police Directorate, in partnership with the NGO Center for Roma Initiatives, with the support of the British Embassy in Podgorica.
