Marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

On 25th November- the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, in cooperation with the Security Center in Niksic, the Center for Social Work for the municipalities of Niksic, Pluzine and Savnik, the Faculty of Philosophy and the Secondary School of Economics in Niksic, our organization introduced more than 250 officials, secondary school students and university students about the importance of promoting equality, truths and prejudices about Roma and Egyptian women and men by distributing desk calendars and  pens and by placing posters in the mentioned institutions. A three-day training for 20 high school and university students on the mentioned topic is in progress. On 25th November in Niksic, the organization set up 16 boxes in various facilities for donating funds for the construction of the first national shelter for victims of child arranged marriage and launched the first online fundraising campaign www.crink.me

The activities are part of the project “Reducing Discrimination against the Roma and Egyptian Community” implemented with the financial support of the US Embassy in Podgorica, as well as part of the project funded by the OAK Foundation “Adequate Inclusion and Equal Access to Roma and Egyptian Women in Combating Gender-Based Violence”
