In the period from 21.-23.08.2020. through a two-day training, 13 Roma and Egyptian activists were introduced with the work and licensed services of SOS telephone services for women and children victims of violence in Nikšić, with services of Safe Women’s House Podgorica, Montenegrin Women’s Lobby and SOS Telephone Podgorica.
Also, two independent leaders of the Center for Roma Initiatives, in accordance with the accredited program, informed the participants about the ways in which the relevant institutions act in accordance with the Protocol , as well as the specifics of the Roma and Egyptian communities regarding violence and child marriage.
The training was realized by the Center for Roma Initiatives within the project “Equal Access to Roma and Egyptian Women in Licensed Services in Montenegro” which is financially supported with the help of the European Union, through the project “Stopping Violence against Women in the Western Balkans and Turkey: “Implementing norms, changing minds”, conducted by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Office in Montenegro and the United Nations Agency for the Empowerment of Women and Gender Equality (UN WOMEN).
